Banded V-belts contain 2 or more single belts that are banded together using a reinforced backing material. This banding helps to prevent the belts from turning over in the sheave due to speed fluctuations or vibration in the application. Banded v-belts offer advantages like minimizing belt whip and roll over on long center distance drives, dampening vibration and absoring heavy shock loads. Both cogged and classic banded v-belts available.
Cogged Banded V-belts combine the strength and stability of banded belts with the flexibilty of cogged belts. With two or more cogged belts banded together using a reinforced backing material, cogged banded v-belts provide excellent service life in high shock load applications, where increased horsepower or speed is required.
