Greenheck Named Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year
Schofield, Wis., March 2005–Greenheck Fan Corporation recently received the 2004 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Grand Award for excellence from the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. Greenheck won the top award in competition with Wisconsin’s largest manufacturers (800 or more employees).
Each nominee was judged on a variety of criteria including financial growth, manufacturing processes, management philosophy, continuous improvement, research and development, leadership, employee commitment, and community involvement. A panel of independent judges evaluated the applications and selected the award winners.
Greenheck’s successful business strategy during the past four years was cited as one of the key reasons the company was honored. In 2001, when the economy and construction market spiraled downward, Greenheck launched a plan to grow. The company involved employee owners and business partners in a total team effort to drive growth and build for its future by accelerating new and redesigned product introductions, increasing brand awareness, expanding sales channels and improving channel effectiveness, growing international business, emphasizing operational excellence, and investing in its people and manufacturing capacity. In spite of the economic downturn, Greenheck has consistently increased sales each year. Since 2001, annual sales have increased nearly 30 percent and now approach $300 million.
Greenheck is the leading global manufacturer of a wide range of air movement and control equipment for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. The company, which began operations in 1947, employs more than 1,850 people worldwide and has more than one million square feet of manufacturing space. Headquartered in Schofield, Wis., Greenheck has five manufacturing locations and twelve distribution centers across the U.S. and around the world.
